UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has published the official notification for UPSC CAPF recruitment 2023 on the official website upsc.gov.in for filling up 322 vacancies for the post of Assistant Commandants (AC) in the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) including the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, etc. The last date for submitting the online application is 16th May 2023. The exam consists of three stages, written examination, physical fitness test, and interview round.

Eligibility Criteria


  • The applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any government-recognized board

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India

  • Both female, as well as male candidates, can apply for this exam

  • The age limit for eligibility is between 20 to 25 years 

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:

  • Upto a maximum of 5 years for SC/ST candidates

  • Upto a maximum of 3 years for OBC candidates 

  • Upto a maximum of 5 years for Civilian Central Government Servants. Ex-Servicemen will also be eligible for this relaxation


Physical Eligibility Details:


Height: 

  • For Males: 165 cm

  • For Females: 157 cm


Chest: 

  • For Males: 81-86 cm

Exam Pattern:


The UPSC CAPF examination will be conducted in an offline mode. The total duration of the exam will be 5 hours. The exam paper is divided into Part I and Part II. The first part of the exam is an objective type and is available in both English and Hindi languages. The second exam is a descriptive type and is only acceptable in the English language. There will be a total of 450 questions. 


In the first part of the exam, candidates will be negatively marked for every incorrect answer, and one-third of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test:


Physical efficiency test is the second stage of CAPF exam. Those who clear the written examination can take the test. It will be conducted in the third week of September 2023. 


Race:

  • For Males: 

    • 100 meters Race in 16 Second

    • 800 meters Race in 3 min 45 Second

  • For Females: 

    • 100 meters Race in 18 Second

    • 800 meters Race in 4 min 45 Seconds


Long Jump:

  • For Males: 3.5 meters

  • Form Females: 03-meter


Shot Put:

  • Form Males: 7.26 Kg in 4.5 meters


Interview:


The final round of recruitment is an interview, which an applicant must pass in order to join any of their desired forces. It is a personality test that will evaluate a candidate's personality and expertise. It will be expected to be held in the first week of October 2023 and the final result will come in the last week of October 2023.
