NDA & CDS exams are national-level competitive exams conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission to recruit candidates who wish to begin their careers in the defense forces. What is CDS Exam?


CDS ( Combined Defence Services exam ) is a national-level examination held annually by UPSC to recruit eligible young individuals for various armed forces throughout India. UPSC CDS exam is conducted to select candidates in the following armed forces:

Both men and women can apply for this exam. Women/girls can also apply for the CDS exam under Officer Training Academy (OTA) posts only.

CDS Eligibility Criteria: 


The eligibility requirements are comprised of four categories, which are physical standards, nationality, education qualification, and UPSC CDS age limit. Candidates who apply for the post should fulfill all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification.


  • Physical Standards: The candidates should be mentally and physically fit in order to meet the physical standard guidelines, as mentioned in the official CDS notification.


  • Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India before January 01, 1962, with the intention of Permanent Settle.


  • Educational qualification required for different job posts:

  • Application form for CDS 2023 will appear 

  • Fill in your personal and contact details

  • Remit the fee of ₹ 200/

  • Upload a scanned copy of the photograph and signature

  • Candidates who wish to apply for this job profile must be unmarried and must meet the following eligibility criteria:


  • a citizen of India, or 

  • a subject of Nepal, or

  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.
