CLAT 2023 -  Exam Date, New Changes, Eligibility Criteria & Syllabus

 

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is the gateway for aspiring law professionals to enter the top law schools across India for LLB and LLM programs. CLAT entrance exam is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, comprising 22 NLUs. Aspiring law professionals need to apply for the CLAT exam in order to be eligible to take admission to any of the participating universities falling under NLUs.


CLAT 2023 


The CLAT application form 2023 has been extended till November 18, 2022. Candidates can register and fill out the application form on the CLAT official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium of National Law Universities will conduct CLAT 2023 on December 18, 2022, in offline mode.


The CLAT 2023 admission will be given according to the merit list released during the result announcement.

  • BBA LLB

  • BSW LLB

  • LLM


Eligibility Criteria:


The consortium has published the updated eligibility criteria of CLAT 2023 for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM courses on its official website. These include parameters like academic qualification, minimum marks, age limit, etc.  

  • The candidates should have passed the class 12 examination or an equivalent examination with at least 45% aggregate marks ( For Sc/ST candidates, it is 40%)

  • There is no age limit to apply or appear for CLAT

  • Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2023 are also eligible to appear for the exam. But at the time of admission, they have to present the proof that they passed the qualifying examination


Exam Pattern: 


Students need to develop a strong preparation strategy if they want to clear this exam, keeping in mind the CLAT exam pattern and CLAT syllabus 2023. There are a total of 5 subjects covered under the CLAT exam pattern namely english, current affairs, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and quantitative techniques.

CLAT 2023 Fees:


CLAT 2023 registration fee is Rs.4,000 for general category candidates and Rs.3,500 for SC, ST & BPL candidates.


CLAT Admit Card 2023:


The admit card of CLAT 2023 will possibly be available for download in the first week of December. 


Steps to download the admit card: 


  • Visit the official website of CLAT 2023

  • Login using your registration number/mobile number & password

  • Click on admit card link

  • Admit card will be displayed on the screen

  • Download & take the printout of the admit card


CLAT 2023 Cut Off: 


The CLAT cutoff is the minimum score needed to be admitted to a national law university. The cut offs vary from college to college, according to the college preference given by the candidates and their marks in CLAT examination. 


CLAT 2023 Results:


The CLAT 2023 result will be announced in the form of individual scorecards as well as merit lists. Candidates can download the CLAT 2023 result by logging into their registered account. The result will include details such as marks obtained by the candidate in the examination, rank, qualifying status and other relevant details.
